Minnesota Bill Bans More Than Just Pre-Sales

The Minnesota State Legislature is currently considering a bill affecting both the sale and resale of tickets within the state. Senate File 0759, in its original form, prohibits the sale of tickets above face value until tickets had been made available to the general public for at least 10 days.

The Judiciary Committee is set to hear SF0759 this morning, and the bill now contains an amendment introduced on April 2, 2009. This amendment expands the prohibitions to include sales in which the seller or reseller does not possess or have some sort of contractual or legal right to the tickets.

Members interested in expressing their opinions about the bill proposal should contact their elected state officials.
